Personnel

Patrick Fontein is the Director and Owner of SD4.

Patrick and Paul have been working together for 15 years, initially with the Kensington Group of companies, followed by the setting up of Studio D4 in 2009.

Patrick leads all of the property consulting, property investment, and project setup initiatives and Paul runs the development management and delivery of projects.

Patrick Fontein

Patrick has 25 years of property development experience in the NZ market. Patrick’s main skill is to find unique creative property solutions to difficult issues and optimise outcomes for our corporate clients. Patrick’s in-depth understanding of all elements related to property, development and investment, allows opportunities to be created that others would not visualise. Patrick will then structure the new concepts into an offering that can be developed and financed.

Patrick has a BE (Civil, Auckland) and a MBA (London), majoring in Corporate Finance with 1st class distinction. Patrick was one of the youngest recipients of a Fellowship from the NZ Property Institute; was awarded the 2006 NZ Property Institute “Industry Award”, for vision and leadership in NZ property; was the Auckland President of the Property Council from 2002 to 2004; and the inaugural Chairman of the NZ Green Building Council from 2006 to 2008. The Kensington Group was awarded Property Council national excellence awards for it’s office and industrial developments, including the 2005 Rider Hunt Property Council Supreme Award, NZ’s top development Award, for Harbourside Business Park.

Steve Brebner

Steve has led the community and stakeholder liaison for our Mangawhai Hills project. This involves meeting with neighbours, Council, Iwi, and any interested parties. Steve was also instrumental in our discussions with the Mangawhai Education Trust in locating Mangawhai Hills College within the project. Steve also works closely with our real estate and build partners on our initial house and lot plans.

From 2009 through to 2012 Graham worked on London Olympics projects, after which Graham returned to NZ and rejoined Patrick and Paul. Graham looks after the day to day development management of all of SD4’s Christchurch projects.

RICHARD FONTEIN

Richard is SD4’s Systems and IT Manager. Richard drives the systems and technology behind a number of SD4’s projects and properties, including managing the technology behind the fully automated Innovation Carpark. Richard also manages all SD4’s IT, project websites and systems optimisation.
